The EEA is a European Union body dedicated to the networked monitoring of environmental conditions in Europe. It is governed by a board consisting of representatives of the governments of the Member States, a representative of the European Commission and two scientists appointed by the European Parliament. It is also advised by a wider committee of scientists.
