An educational approach that aims to promote awareness, knowledge and understanding of environmental issues. Its aim is to encourage the adoption of values, attitudes and practices that lead to a harmonious relationship between people and the natural environment. Through participatory and interdisciplinary methods (which can include lectures, projects, outdoor activities and discussions), Environmental Education seeks to develop a sense of environmental responsibility, encouraging individual and collective action to conserve natural resources, protect biodiversity and promote environmentally responsible and socially just societies. This education aims to train citizens who are aware of and committed to a society that is more aware of and active in preserving and promoting the quality of the environment in which we live.
