A concept that encompasses issues of rights and responsibilities, as well as ideas of equality, diversity, and social justice. The concept of citizenship is not limited to the act of voting but encompasses a whole range of actions that each person undertakes that have an impact on the life of the community (local, national, regional, and international) and are inextricably linked to the public sphere in which people can act together.
