Someone who is actively involved in a cause.
At first glance, we might characterise climate activists as young, students and prone to street action. But it is a much more heterogeneous movement. There are those who dedicate their lives and careers to the cause, such as biologists or lawyers.
Their work, which is less visible, also includes promoting climate literacy, advocacy and legal action, as well as efforts to influence public policy with decision-makers. Environmental advocacy against the risks of climate change and the resulting loss of biodiversity relies on the involvement of ENGOs (Environmental Non-Governmental Organisations) and civil society and is divided into several areas.
